Kailash is the source of four great Asian rivers and a pilgrimage to holy Mount Kailash, it is the sacred mountain of Tibet to both Hindus and Buddhists. The power of this strange, domed peak has gripped the imagination of the people of Nepal, India and Tibet since thousands of years and more peoples from all over the world are willing to see it in reality. After a short visit of Katmandu, fly past the ice peaks of Nepal such Kanchanjungha, Makalu and Mt. Everest to Lhasa, the spiritual center of Tibet visited by pilgrims from all parts of the country. Our journey will follow along the southern route to western Tibet to Kailash by 4wd jeep. Incredible views of the Himalayas and the Trans-Himalayas make up for the long, up to 12-hour drives on rough roads. Our destination is the ‘Center of the World’, as the Tibetans refer to Kailash above 6714 meters from sea level and known as white snow pyramid. Our crew members will arrange all necessary arrangement with equipments for camping portion during the tour.
FLY KATHMANDU – LHASA (3650M) Fly Kathmandu – Lhasa, meet at the airport and transfer to Lhasa, rest of the day free for rest and Acclimatization and stay at Hotel.
Day 04:
Lhasa Sightseeing tour of Potala & Norbulingka Palaces and Sera Monastery. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 05:
Lhasa Sightseeing tour of Drepung & Jokhang Monasteries and Barkhor Market. OvernightHotel.
Day 06:
LHASA – GYANTSE (3950m) Drive to Gyantse passing besides the beautiful Yamdrok Tsho (Turquoise Lake), crossing the Kamba La pass ( 4794m) and Karo La pass ( 5010m). Overnight hotel.
Day 07:
GYANTSE – SHIGATSE (3900m) Sightseeing tour of Phalkor Monastery, Kumbum Stupa and Gyantse Market. Afternoon drive to Shigatse (3950m/3hrs). Sightseeing tour of Tashilungpo Monastery and Xigatse Market. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 08:
SHIGATSE – SHAKYA (4000m) Drive from Shigatse to Shakya (approx 8hrs), crossing two passes Lhakpala (5200m) and Tsuola (4500m). Overnight at Hotel.
Day 09:
SHAKYA – SAGA (4590m) Drive to Saga (4580m) via Lalung La Pass, Paiku Tso and cross the Brahmaputra river (known here as the Yarlung Tsangpo) and O/n at Saga Post Guest House in Saga.
Day 10:
SAGA – PARYANG (4540m) Drive to Paryang (4500m) and O/n at Yak Guest House in Paryang.
Day 11:
PARYANG – MANASAROVAR LAKE (4560m) Drive to Manasarovar Lake (4560m) and O/n at Trugo Gompa or Chiu Gompa Guest House.
Day 12:
MANASAROVAR LAKE – DARCHEN (4700m) The Puja /holy dip at the lake followed by Manasarovar Parikrama in Land cruiser, time permitting visit Chiu Gompa as well after that drive to Darchen (4560m) and O/n at Kailash Hotel in Darchen.
Day 13:
DARCHEN / DRIRA PHUK MONASTERY Start Kailash Kora / Parikrama from Darchen pass the first prostration point, Tarboche Flag Pole, the auspicious gateway and the sky burial ground, to Drira Phuk Monastery (4765m) and O/n at Guest House or Camp in Drira Phuk from where you have superb views of Mt. Kailash.
Day 14:
DRIRA PHUK / ZUTHUL PHUK MONASTERY Continue Parikrama over Drolma-la Pass (5610m) to Zuthul Phuk Monastery (4700m), just below the Dolma La is the Gauri Kund and O/n at Guest House or Camp in Zuthul Phuk.
Day 15:
ZUTHUL PHUK / DARCHEN / MANASAROVAR Crosses third and fourth prostration point, Zuthul Phuk monastery & trek back to near Darchen then after drive to Hor Qu at 4560m near Lake Manasarovar and O/n at Guest House in Hor Qu.
Day 16:
MANASAROVAR LAKE – PARYANG Drive to Paryang and O/n at Yak Guest House in Paryang.
Day 17:
PARYANG – SAGA Drive to Saga and O/n at Saga Post Guest House in Saga.
Day 18:
SAGA – NYALAM Drive to Nyalam and O/n at Nyalam Guest House in Nyalam.
Day 19:
NYALAM / ZHANGMU / KATHMANDU Drive downhill to Friendship Bridge following the gorge of Bhote Koshi River for the final leg of the journey to Kathamndu. Stay ta Hotel.
Day 20:
Kathmandu leisure day and evening farewell dinner
Day 21:
Departure to connect next destination or you may extend the trip as per your desire and time
